1986 On two occasions, Raven Bitch was hired to play at wedding receptions. Not a great idea. Before this show began, the groom asked the band to start out the set with a slow song so that they could do the bride/groom first dance. The problem was, Raven Bitch didn’Äôt play any slow songs. So they huddled in the dressing room and worked one out. They played the verse of Iron Maiden’Äôs ’ÄúRemember Tomorrow’Äù and then went into a chorus that Bobby Schumacher wrote on the spot, while Dan sang some gibberish lyrics about love. This actually went over pretty well. Next the band pulled out a cover of Metallica’Äôs ’ÄúPhantom Lord’Äù. Apparently, much of the family that was in attendance was not prepared for this, and it actually caused a mild panic which ended with someone literally pulling the plug on the band’Äôs stage and PA system. This was followed by screaming, yelling, crying, aunts and uncles fighting, grandparents cursing, and much general unpleasantness. While Bud and Marie were fans of the band, the rest of the family did not share their musical taste. Clocking in at 1 song, and 1/8 of another song, this was without a doubt the shortest Raven Bitch show ever. NEXT PREV Bud & Marie Waple’Äôs Wedding
