The Lineups
Raven Bitch became a real band when Dan Witt walked into Greg Kalembers basement in winter of 1985. Dan had heard buzz about the young band, but had been hesitant to attend a rehearsal, having also heard rumors that the band was Satanic. Chris Rossiter convinced Dan to check the band out for himself. Dan arrived at the bands practice, grabbed a mic, and they blasted out a cover of Riots Swords and Tequila, a tune that would become a staple of their set for years to come. Dans energy, personality, and gnashing vocal style set Raven Bitch apart from most other bands of their time, when operatic, melodic style singers were all the rage. Conflict over the bands financial picture finally caused Dan to leave the band shortly before its demise in 1988.
